SmartCruise is a virtual prototype for a self-driving car that relies on neural networks that capture and analyze pictures of the surrounding area.
Cliff Notes
A student came to us with a background interest in coding, and specifically with an excitement for driverless cars.
The Project
Ivy Brothers helped the student throughout the project to deploy a series of micro-cameras within the online environment that took pictures of the surrounding area. The data was then sent to a server, to analyze the images, fed into a machine learning model that determined whether or not there could be a collision. Ivy Brothers helped the student with design, understanding the physics behind the project, manipulating the variables in the program, and with creating the machine learning algorithm.
Ivy Brothers helped the student develop a prototype for a self-driving car in a three-dimensional rendering program, and helped him receive recognition from a Product Manager at Uber.
